Q:Does the Ainol Novo 7 support Android Market?
A:Yes. From firmware version 1.7 onwards the Novo 7 Advanced supports Android Market. All Novo 7's bought from us support Android Market.

Q:General info about the tablet?
A:The best place to look is the Slatedroid forum, link above. It has a very active Novo 7 Advanced user community.

Q:Packaging?
A:The Novo 7 has very high quality packaging to match the rest of the tablet. The outer box contains two smaller boxes, one containing the tablet within a cardboard insert and a screen wipe, the other containing the power adapter, a user manual (in Chinese), a mini-USB to USB-male cable, and a mini-USB to USB-female cable. It is all of the highest quality and is in fact the best packaging we've seen of any Chinese product.

Q:Problem connecting to Android Market?
A:If you are having trouble connecting to Android Market there are a couple of things to try which will fix things. The first is to go to Settings-Applications, and enable 'Hidden Google Application' at the bottom. No restart and you should have full market. If that doesn't work the go to Settings-Privacy and enable Back up my data. You can always disable this again once you have working market. Once you've gone through these steps you will have full Android Market and be able to download BBC iPlayer, Opera, Angry Birds, Google Maps, Google Earth. etc.

Q:Recommended Apps from Android Market?
A:A few Apps we like are Opera Mobile for web browsing, the BBC iPlayer App, Wi-Fi Analyzer (fascinating and slightly disturbing display of how we are all engulfed by Wi-Fi), Twitter, Vevo (loads of music videos - a very well constructed App), Youtube, Google Earth, ES Task Killer (add this as a widget to the homescreen to kill running Apps with one touch and keep the tablet running at optimum).

Q:Latest firmware?
A:The Novo 7 Advanced has already received many updates. The tablets we sell are supplied with firmware version 2.0t. We will try and keep this page updated with the latest firmware. Current latest stable is 2.0t. Look at the links above for download links and upgrade instructions.

Q:Ice Cream Sandwich - Android 4.0?
A:At time of writing (8-DEC) there is already an Android 4.0 test release for the Novo 7 Advanced (look on Slatedroid for info - we've also been sent the same test version by Ainol), so it won't be long until you can get Android 4.0 goodness on the Novo 7 Advanced!

Q:I've heard about an Ainol Novo tablet running ICS for $99?!
A:This is a different tablet internally to the Novo 7 Advanced. We believe it to be a tablet that has been around for a few months now called the 'Ainol Novo 7 Basic'. Our tablet uses an ARM chipset whilst the 'Basic' tablet uses a MIPS chipset ('Ingenic JZ4770' - more similar to the CPU in a PC). The recent promotional blitz is the result of Android 4.0 ICS being ported to this machine and some clever promotion by a website marketing this as a $99 Android 4.0 tablet (which it is). The Ingenic JZ4770 is slower than the Allwinner A10 used in the Novo 7 Advanced (particularly for video and gaming) and there are question marks over the compatibility of the MIPS chipset with some Apps. The ARM based Novo 7 Advanced we sell is the better tablet and a much safer bet for the moment. At time of writing (8-DEC) there is already an Android 4.0 test release for the Novo 7 Advanced (look on Slatedroid for info - we've also been sent the same test version by Ainol), so it won't be long until you can get Android 4.0 goodness on the Novo 7 Advanced!
